About Company Classes

The CYT Company Class is an audition-only, advanced training program designed for serious young performers seeking pre-college level instruction in musical theatre. This elite program provides rigorous, professional-level training in acting, vocal performance, and dance within a focused, supportive, and disciplined environment for high-school students. Students will be challenged to grow both artistically and personally as they develop the skills, work ethic, and mindset required of high-level performers. Emphasis is placed on excellence, collaboration, and professionalism—equipping students to rise to industry-level expectations while fostering a deep respect for the rehearsal process and their fellow artists.

Rooted in a Christ-centered foundation, this program encourages students to pursue their gifts with humility, integrity, and purpose. Through intentional mentorship and a values-driven approach, performers will be inspired to use their talents not only for the stage, but to impact others and honor God through their work.

Company is a two-hour weekly class offered each session, combining high-level instruction with hands-on application. In addition, all Company participants are required to enroll in one Studio class each session. This structure allows students to explore the professional performance world in Company while developing specific skills in their Studio class, helping them grow into well-rounded artists.

Throughout the session, Company students will also collaborate to create a polished performance piece to be presented at community events and other performance opportunities.

Auditions

Auditions for the CYT Company Class are designed to evaluate each student’s performance skills, work ethic, and character. The process includes a group dance call, where students learn and perform a short musical theatre combination, followed by an individual audition consisting of a prepared song, monologue, and a brief personal interview. Students should come fully prepared with memorized material, ready to demonstrate their abilities in singing, acting, and dance, as well as their coachability, professionalism, and commitment to growth within a Christ-centered environment.
